Note to Self Saturday: Cloth Diapering = Daddy FAIL

Note to Self: When daddy says... "fine... cloth diaper, but im not touching them"
he means it...

This man... this strong handsome man that I call my husband...
hard working... tough guy... rock star... are all words you could use to describe him...
oh and I forgot one more... pansy...
when it comes to cloth diapering he is a TOTAL pansy...
When he first found out that i wanted to try my hand at cloth diapering...
he was in NO way interested...
but why would he tell me no?
It saves him money on disposable diapers...
and I got all the cloth diapers from the giant giveaway i did.
I already had them to review... why not use them regularly.
It was a win-win...
Well, so I thought...
When he said, "fine... cloth diaper, but im not touching them"
He meant it...
The man has not changed ONE single cloth diaper.
Not even a pee diaper!!
IF Zave is wet and needs a change...
I get this..."TG the baby needs changed and he has one of those stupid diapers on" and he giggles...
awesome... so I stop what Im doing... change the diaper... smile... and carry on.
If its poopy... you'd think there was a comedian in the room the way he snickers at me...
GEESH! Its just a diaper!!!
Naturally, to avoid this i would just use regular diapers when he is home...
We use the eco friendly disposables @ nap & night... Not a big deal...

But to me it is... Im trying really hard to be eco-friendly...
and cloth diapering has become really important to me...
Im not giving up that easily.
Were sticking with it...
Well, I am at least... he wont be... lol
Its good for Zave... its good for the environment... and lets be honest...
his litty squishy butt is so dang cute!
I know there are more of you with husbands who hate the idea of cloth diapering...
I hear about it quite a bit...
Chime in! Id love to hear your stories...
Hopefully some of you have good news... like... eventually you convert them!?
Haha... yeah..... well, a girl can hope right?

To finish this post I had to dig up the awesome photo that we took for Barley & Birch

One of our most favorite Eco friendly shops out there...
Stay tuned for some secret plans in the works...
hmm... a collaboration of Barley&Birch with RockerByeBaby????
It just may be ;)

  1. My hubby's not too into the cloth either. It took six months for him to finally change one, and so far it has still only been one. Check out my post about it: http://munchkinfarm.blogspot.com/2009/09/fluff-talk-thursday_16.html

  2. Keep the faith, mama! Greg was the SAME way, until I did the math for him about the price. Now he just shakes his head, and changes them. Wash them, though?!?!? NEVER! THAT would be like pulling teeth! LOL! Also, getting some skull ones helped the battle a bit, as well. Or threaten to shut down RBB, and be a stay at home NON working mom, and see how he likes that! (I threaten this ALL the time).

  3. Chris has been washing and changing cloth diapers since the little guy was born. So there is at least one guy who doesn't mind helping out with cloth diapering. We sort of feel like poop is poop and you have to clean up either way.

  4. Best of luck girlie! And keep at it, you'll convince him eventually!

  5. Keep it up with the cloth diapering! You are doing a great thing. Zac is a wuss. Marty would agree. ;)

  6. I don't have any kids, but I *think* my man would be pretty cool with the idea of cloth diapering once we do have children. He's a total penny-pincher, and we're big into the "waste not, want not" philosophy. So surely that means he'd be willing to put a little bit of extra work into making sure that our nonexistent children will leave a minimal carbon footprint. Surely....

  7. Haha Jessie, do you guys cloth diaper?

I love hearing all this feedback... We talked about this more today... i came clean about the post just in case he ran across me talking smack, lol He said again... if you want to CD thats totally fine. I just would prefer to use disposables. So Ill change those... you change CD... easy, lol

So I guess we will continue on the path we have been on.
