Congrats Sarah! Giveaway #1 - Buddha Bunz

I can't tell you how excited we are to be hosting this little online baby shower for a REALLY great friend for mine... Sarah. Sarah is pregnant with a baby boy due August 19th (Ahem.. my birthday :) So we figured since so many states separate us from each other... an online shower was a necessity. For each gift Sarah gets... we are giving one away as well! There are 10+ sponsors... including RockerByeBaby of course... and we will be posting at least one a day, so be sure to keep checking back!!

To kick off this little party - we're starting with Buddha Bunz... now, its no secret that we are HUGE HUGE fans of her wool dryer balls... they are hand made (of course) and come in all sorts of colors, patterns & scents... My favorite combo so far has been *undyed*birthday cake* I love the pure, clean look of the natural wool.
And of course... who doesn't love the smell of Birthday Cake!? Or hey, maybe that's not your thing... never fear... there are over 50 scents to choose from... clean, fresh, fruity, sweet, manly... everything you could need. Not only do they make your clothes smell delicious... but they are eco-friendly seeing as they cut down dryer time... they also are safe on cloth diapers! Trust me... we have about 10+ balls floating around our house and in our dryer... Un-dyed... pink... turquoise... I can't even remember what other colors, haha but we have lots and love coming back for more. Its pretty often that I will go to switch loads and find an empty dryer. Why? Because the boys love to take the wool balls and play catch with them in the hallway!  Fun for the whole family. And you can never have too many ;)

Now - you made it through my rambling about my true love for Buddha Bunz... and Im sure want me to get to the best part, right? Well - the BEST part... is Sarah was given a set of two Un-dyed, Un-Scented dryer balls... meaning we are giving away a matching set! If you want, you can pay $2 to have both balls scented :)

  4. My eco-friendly parenting tip is to consider Cloth Diapers :). They are easy and you aren't filling up the landfills with diapers that will take 500+ years to decompose!

  5. Sarah,
My favorite eco-friendly parenting tip is try to go green one thing at a time because too many changes can be overwhelming and make you not want to continue with those changes.

    Congrats!

  16. Cloth diaper--just do it :)

Other than that--try making your own yogurt. It tastes so yummy and you can add your own flavors. Plus it is much cheaper(I can make a quart of organic yogurt for the same cost as the non organic store brand natural yogurt) and you are saving all those little containers from going in the landfill!

  17. My advice for going green is don't sweat it if you can't right away. It can be expensive at times so just do what you can. If you start small and work your way up you'll be fine. I started with cloth diapers, then eco friendly detergent and finally cleaning and bath products products (we love CJs in this house)

  24. Go Green Tip: Try to go green as you go. Doing it all at once can be overwhelming. For example, reuse glass jars from spaghetti sauce, etc. This saves when you make things like smoothies, diced fruits, etc. Once you get the hang of it, then move on to other things like reusable snack/sandwich bags, wipes/cloths, etc.

  27. My green tip is: Pre-folds are awesome in replace of Paper Towels. I take one to bed with me when I have a cold. I also clean with them. They are very versatile and not just for you baby's bottom!!!

  32. My eco-friendly tip for Sarah is to try Rockin' Green detergent, not JUST for cloth diapering, but for other laundry as well. It is AMAZING, takes stains out, smells fantastic, and is much better than the chemical-laden detergents out there.

  34. My go green tip is... Cloth diapers are really hard to get the hang of. If you find it hard to use them consider starting out with gDiapers. gDiapers are breathable. They are biodegradable diapers so you don't have to feel bad about throwing the liner away. It makes it so much easier to get started when you are not overwhelmed in new born poop diapers. Grats on the baby!!!

  42. My eco friendly thing I do as a parent is no bottled water, we have found that using a tap water filter and resuable bottles are best for our family. Saves us money & the average family goes threw 3000 bottles of water each year, about 750$ worth. Congrats also!!

  46. An eco friendly parenting tip? Unpaper towels are a godsend when cleaning baby up! Perfect for wiping them down, wiping the high chair, etc! I love that I can reuse them again and again!

  51. An eco-friendly tip would be to cloth diaper...a budget-friendly tip to go with that would be to look for used cloth diapers, especially until you know for sure what kind you love and want to get lots of :)

  55. Go green tip - Cloth Diapers and Cloth Wipes. If you are using cloth diapers why not use cloth wipes as well. They wash up wonderful and are much softer for babies bum.
