Favorites Friday: Cold Remedy

So as Im sure 90% of you have heard me complaining on twitter.... but for those that havn't, my kids are sick... :( Poor little babies got colds.... pretty bad ones too. I have gone through so many Booger Bashers... had to wash blankies... warm Boo Boo packs... make soup... tea... and the list goes on.... so I thought it would be fun to compile a list of the must haves to get through a toddlers cold :)

*click the photo to zoom in for a closer look!*

#1L ShaynaPunam - Cold & Cough Balm... I did a giveaway for this store a LONG while ago... and i STILL use the product. Unlike Vicks or a convenience store rub, this is gentle, with natural ingredients... and can go on their chest, back, or even under their nose.

#2: RockerByeBaby - Booger Bashers, they are a MUST for any cold, flu... or even just slimey drool... all babies, toddlers, & mommies need a set in their diaper bag :)

#3: PrimitiveEarth: Yummy Organic Lavender & Mint Tea." All-natural, organic and fair trade teas are used in this blend." I tricked the boys into drinking some lavender tea & added a little orange juice so it tasted like something they were used to. It was perfect... calmed them down and got them to relax...

#4: MezzaLunaBodycare - Sick Puppy Playdough, genius... i have not ever had the pleasure of using this product, but wow... what do you do with your crabby sick irritated, antsy toddler? Give him/her this paydough to play with... their entertained and soothed with eucalyptus and rosemary all at the same time.

#5: Isas7ada - Doctor Nurse & Patient wooden toys... this year we are all about wooden toys... and with sick toddlers these would fit right in... Anyone wanna play hospital!? *PLEASE zoom up the photo to take a close look at this one ;)*

#6: The Crazy Elephant - Totally Rockin Skull Owie Fixer... NOt only do we have toddlers with aches and fevers... but we hav a clutzy little one that bumps and thumps all day long. These come in handy. I have 2 from BabyBooFelt, hers rock as well, just none in stock. Just ask! Im sure she will whip one up for you :)

#7: MEandREEKIE: Black Pirate Bootys - I have posted about these before... but Zavery is obsessed... and in his whiney sick mode, trying to keep these booties away would be a HUGE mistake, lolPlus, they keep him warm which keeps him happy... in turn, making mommy happy.

#8: BrookeVanGoryDesigns: Green Gory Pants... We love our Gory pants... They're eco friendly... soft & snuggly... TOTALLY washing machine friendly... and made upcycled from the most perfectly broken in t-shirts :) An absolute must for a recovery week of lounging & snuggling.

#9: Me again.... I hate to do it AGAIN, but yes... they can NOT live without their RockerByeBaby blankets... seeing as they have been wrapped in one since the day they were born, haha They have become QUITE attached. One night, Izzaq, in a coughing fit threw up a little on his blanket. It was a TOTAL meltdown, because naturally I had to wash it... well, there was no satisfying him with any other... he wanted his "b".... *note to self - make a duplicate with the exact same thread... stains, and wear marks... lol

Thursdays Tunes: Over My Head (Cable Car)

Every time i get REALLY busy and overwhelmed... for some reason this song playes in my head on repeat... not even the whole song... just the "Everyone knows im in.. over my head, over my head" part, lol over and over and over... I thought I would give you a sneak peek in to my sanity... or insanity... im not sure which, lol

p.s. the kid in the video is his lil Bro... too cute :)

The Fray
"Lyrics to Over My Head (Cable Car) :
I never knew
I never knew that everything was falling through
That everyone I knew was waiting on a queue
To turn and run when all I needed was the truth
But that's how it's got to be
It's coming down to nothing more than apathy
I'd rather run the other way than stay and see
The smoke and who's still standing when it clears

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head

With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

Let's rearrange
I wish you were a stranger I could disengage
Just say that we agree and then never change
Soften a bit until we all just get along
But that's disregard
Find another friend and you discard
As you lose the argument in a cable car
Hanging above as the canyon comes between

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head

With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head

With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

And suddenly I become a part of your past
I'm becoming the part that don't last
I'm losing you and its effortless
Without a sound we lose sight of the ground
In the throw around
Never thought that you wanted to bring it down
I won't let it go down till we torch it ourselves

And everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head

With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind
She's on your mind

Everyone knows
She's on your mind
Everyone knows I'm in over my head
I'm in over my head
I'm in over...

Everyone knows I'm in
Over my head
Over my head

With eight seconds left in overtime
She's on your mind

One More Thing... Be kind for under $1.00

So - I had a thought while I was talking to a friend :) Obviously not everyone can do big donations... and sometimes even $5 is just too much to spare... I know this, Ive been there. And some of you readers are in that spot right now... scraping change together for ramen... Spaghetti Spaghetti Peanut Better Spaghetti... I remember. But I also know that many of you in that spot still want to help out... Karma right? Do good things? Good things happen? Well, I had an idea of how you can help for the price of a stamp.

There are TONS of people on Wish Upon A Hero just asking for cards... to feel needed and wanted and loved...
So do this and get the kids involved... Pull out some random construction paper... glue... crayons... whatever randomness you can find... and make some holiday cards. Write a sweet little note... a message... a quote... a poem... anything inspiring... and send it off... It will make someones day... you & your family get to do something nice... and no one breaks the bank :) Everyone wins...

A christmas Wish: Please Help

Hey guys... I really need your help... any kind of help really, but I will take whatever i can get... First Im gunna tell you a story... then Ill tell you what I need... k? When I was 13 my parents split up. My dad was an alcoholic and very abusive... after the final time of seeing my dad throw my mom through a bathroom door pinning her against the wall. I said that was it... The next day, while they were both at work, I ran home from school, packed a bag of clothes for each of us kinda and my mom... when she got home I said were leaving... and if you wont... im running away. So we did. And she never went back... I shared a 1 bedroom apartment with my mom & two other siblings for years... we didn't have much but it didnt matter... it was warm... it was safe... it was family. There was no way we could have pulled off christmas that year... until of course there was a knock on the door. I ran to get it... and what I saw STILL brings tears to my eyes. 3 giant garbage bags full of perfectly wrapped christmas presents... it was clothes... shoes... books... gift cards... toys.... everything my family could have wanted. And i will never ever forget that day... We still dont know who it was... we have our ideas, but no one has ever admitted it... Since then I have always tried my best to help people when I can... and this year I want to help someone less fortunate have a Christmas. But I need your help too... After many referrals I went to www.WishUponaHero.com have you ever been there? Its amazing... I love seeing so many people reaching out to others in need. I will definitely be back there... some people are asking for just christmas cards... some help with rent... and people help. Its beautiful.

I picked Two Wishes.... WishUponAHero We have to get together and send them so good stuffs to help out :)

Wish #1:
"My husband has been unemployed basically since we found out that I was pregnant and we are due at the end of january. And I am employed full time but not able to keep up with the bills, let alone buy necesseties for the little guy. We are not looking for brandnew items or money, but any items and possible gift card for babies r us, target, walmart, etc. and prayers. What we do have so far is just a couple of stuffed animals, clothes 6-12 months mostly, 1 blanket, a travel system, a couple of blankets. We are planning on cloth diapers, so those and the covers would greatly help on that end. We do greatly appreciate anyone just looking at this and hope everyone is able to enjoy the holidays!!! "

Wish #2:
"I am a single mom of two toddlers, 7 months pregnant and just recently took maternity leave. I am a married 20 year old with two toddlers. I moved away from the beautiful beaches of panama city,fl to make a better life for myself and my family. Recently, my husband left us, walked out on us and moved 1200 miles awayRight now I am in a situation where I just need basic things around the house very bad! General things like laundry soap, body soap, dish soap, and i honestly don't know how i will buy the next pack of diapers for my son. he has some right now but i will be panicking soon. Anything would help and be so greatly appreciated! I would not ask if it was not really needed!I am a waitress on the weekends and during the week I work for "Jill's Helping Hands" which is in home care for the elderly. Pretty much it's general health care, cleaning, cooking, looking out for them. We help keep elderly out of nursing home and I am very thankful that I get to help these people out. "

So here is what I need guys... I need you to send me what you can that qualifies into any of these two categories... Gift Cards for Diapers.. Cloth Diapers... Rockin Green - maybe some soap? Prefolds... clothing... Brooke - some pants maybe? Gory has grown out of all his little stuff right? Could we share maybe if you still have some? Any old toys? Any new toys? Heathens Hearth, maybe some LIttle Heathens? Anything you guys can do... $5 gift card to Target... $10 to Wal-mart... whatever!! It will be MUCH appreciated... I plan to go through as much as I can. If you can help, leave me a comment here with your email address, what you can send... and I will email you my address. I want to have everything sent within a week... so I can get it out all packed together and shipped to them before christmas.

Thanks guys...
